Healthy Body and Mind Blog Reviews:

For my blog reviews I chose two subjects that I enjoy, and feel are an important part of my life, that is physical fitness and traveling.  The physical aspect allows me the strength and stamina to keep up with my seven year old son and travel aspect keeps me happy while making memories with my family.  The first is titled “Realistic Ways to Eat Better, Workout Harder, and Get More Results” by Brad Borland.  It is a personal blog with a professional format because it has proper grammar and structure.  It has an inspirational and positive tone.  It included different sections about working out and eating better and was formatted with bullet points as an instructional guide to help you reach the goal of maintaining a healthier lifestyle.  I like it because it has a positive tone that resonates with me.  About three years ago I was very overweight and wanted to make changes in my life but didn’t know where to start, it felt very overwhelming.  I began to eat better and started working out at my favorite local gym, very similar to what he talked about in his blog.

He discussed taking small steps with your eating habits as well as workout goals.  One thing I did not like was he had not included anything about what to do if you fall back into your bad ways and how to get back on track.  Based on my own experience it is important not to be too hard on yourself and should just focus on getting back on track.

The second Blog is titled “10 Day California Coast Itinerary” written by Kiersten AKA The Blonde Abroad.

I selected this blog because I feel that traveling and experiencing new things is important for my mind and helps me feel rejuvenated.  In my opinion mental health is just as important as physical health and travel is one way that I keep my mind happy.  I do not like this blog as much because while I enjoy the traveling aspect it is not relatable to me as a mother.  This blog is a personal and professional blog because it is about her own personal experiences but also has proper grammar and professional form.  She also has affiliate marketing links included.  I like the images she used in this blog and makes me want to travel to the places pictured.  I am remined of my own travel to California as a child when my mom took me to see the ocean for the first time, watching the sunset over the water was breathtaking.  This is something that I have been able to experience with my own child.

I like the way her blog was organized by the 10 different locations sections, it made it easy to follow.  I believe the purpose of her blog is to inspire you to go out and travel and her information on the destinations was informative.  You can easily plan your own travels with the help of her affiliate links.

In conclusion, I enjoyed both blogs.  As a mother I sometimes tend to put my family’s needs ahead of my own.  These blogs serve as a reminder to me that in order to be the best mom I can be I must also take care of myself.

    1. You're welcome, and thank you reading! For me, setting small goals is very important. Don't set goals that are so far out of reach that you get discouraged. I also try not to focus on weight loss alone, but on how my body feels. And don't be hard on yourself, everyone will stumble at some point. Just shake yourself off and get back on track. I hope this helps.

    2. Hello Marlena,
Health and physical fitness are definitely two important features of our lives that doesn't come with a price tag, but a great deal of discipline, motivation and persistence. It is amazing the way our bodies can feel when we take care of it! Falling off the workout wagon can definitely feel like a setback; however, I agree with you that not being too harsh on ourselves and moving forward is key. I enjoy the read, thank for sharing!
